Dhaka (News Agencies, Net News) In Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, students and the public beat the workers of Hasina Wajid’s party Awami League and forced them to flee. According to media reports, Awami League workers tried to take out a rally and procession on the anniversary of Sheikh Mujib ur Rahman on August 15, but angry people and students stopped them from doing so. Also rain sticks.
The students say that Hasina Wajid directed her goons to gather at different places and make a revolution. Meanwhile, Acting Advisor on Foreign Affairs Muhammad Tawheed Hussain has said that if the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Law say so, they will demand the extradition of Sheikh Hasina Wajid from India. Sheikh Hasina is facing several cases, hope India will respect this demand. On the other hand, the United Nations has decided to send a mission to Bangladesh to investigate human rights violations during the protests.
The interim government confirmed that the fact-finding mission of the United Nations will visit the country next week for the first time since the establishment of the country. The head of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, Volker Turk, had a telephone conversation with the head of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Younis, and informed him of the decision to send the fact-finding mission. Additionally, 15 senior officials, including Hasina Wajid and the former defense minister, have also been named in the case of the murder of a rickshaw driver, during which there were protests. Students caught Hasina Wajid’s adviser Salman F Rehman while fleeing the country with his beard and hair shaved off. Salman F Rehman has been accused of corruption of huge amount in domestic industry.
The Anti-Corruption Commission has decided to initiate a corruption investigation against former Interior Minister Asad-ul-Zaman Khan and five of his associates.
