The Chief Minister while speaking said that Locust Housing Program has been started in Punjab and the scope will be increased every year. He said that Apna Chhat Apna Ghar program will be the largest and most successful residential project in the history of Pakistan. The main objective of Apna Chhat Apna Ghar program is to provide housing to financially weaker sections. To reduce the financial burden on the public, the government will give subsidies and set the easiest monthly installments.
He said that the construction of sustainable and environment-friendly houses will be promoted under the Apna Chhat, Apna Ghar programme. The Chief Minister said that the launch of the revolutionary housing project will provide employment to lakhs of people and lakhs of families will be able to lead a better life. The Apna Chhat, Apna Ghar program will be the first major project in the country’s history to provide interest-free loans.
He said that providing a house to the homeless people is on top of our priorities. Projects are being launched under three plans under the Apna Chhat Apna Ghar programme. Owners of residential plots up to 10 marlas in villages and up to five marlas in cities can borrow up to Rs 10.15 lakh. In the scheme, about 14 thousand rupees will have to be returned in monthly installments, no interest. Manzar flats will be built on government land in big cities. Flats will be allotted to people through easy installments through lottery.
In private housing schemes, 4 houses from three to five marles will be built. In the private housing project, the government will give a subsidy of up to 10 lakh rupees for each house. 1 million applicants for private housing projects will become home owners after paying the remaining installments within five years.
