Had a heart attack, Rana was Tanveer’s brother, Prime Minister and others expressed regret
Rana Afzal Hussain MPA, father of National Assembly member Rana Ahmed Atiq Anwar, brother of Federal Minister for Industries and Production and National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain passed away. The deceased was buried in the ancestral cemetery adjacent to his ancestral dera. The funeral prayer was attended by federal and provincial ministers, ministers of state, senators of the Punjab Assembly, members of the national and provincial assemblies, top bureaucrats, officers of government departments, political and religious parties. Thousands of people including central and provincial leaders, lawyers, businessmen and journalists participated. The deceased was 78 years old and was suffering from heart disease. According to family sources, Rana Afzal Hussain suffered a heart attack at his residence which proved to be fatal. The last rites of the deceased will be performed today after Zuhr Namaz at Rana Farm House Murid K. On his death, President Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz League Leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Hyder Khan and other personalities have expressed deep sorrow and regret to Rana Tanveer Hussain and prayed for Jannat al-Firdus for the deceased and patience for the bereaved. According to a statement issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister Office on Monday, the Prime Minister expressed his condolences over the phone to Rana Tanveer Hussain over the death of his elder brother. The Prime Minister said that Rana Afzal Hussain’s services to the people as a senior political leader are commendable, Rana Afzal Hussain will always be remembered with good words.
